about the walnut-guitar. I have a full walnut les paul, and that guitar isn't much heavier than a regular mahogany/maple les paul. in fact, its somewhere between the heavier and lighter les pauls I have. perhaps 4.5, 4.6 kilo's? my wenge/padouk les paul, thats a heavy son of a b!tch. that one is 6,3 kilo's.

    cheers!

10 pounds is still a hefty guitar...

14 pounds is a boat anchor.

I agree. I don't play those heavy guitars regularly. I'm moving towards lighter guitars nowadays. but those heavy guitars have their (musical and emotional) purpose.

One of my two main gigging guitars at the time is a non-weight-relieved Paul. I never notice it being particularly heavy, though it is over 12 pounds. OTOH, the other main gigging guitar is a swamp ash Esquire, which I notice being particularly light!

Same here, but I hate to pay retail more.

Tone Pros stuff is back ordered, so I went with regular Gotoh in nickel.

I wanted chrome, but that was an even longer wait.

The only thing I am giving up is the lock studs on the bridge, so small sacrifice (not to mention saving $50).

Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Just waiting on hardware... I roughed out the bone nut, and it now sits in the case.

I am working on another guitar that is going off to paint at the same time. I hope to have it ready to go before the end of the month, so I can get them back before December and my painter gets jammed with NAMM work.

                            Look what showed up today...

I actually ordered two of everything, but I already opened some stuff.

I just finished mocking up another guitar last night, so I can get back to this one now.

Roughed in the nut, going to finish that tonight and crash.

This is the other thing I am working on, anyone wanna guess what this is going to be?
