Maybe it's just me, but those black pickups really took away from the look of the flame. Not surewhat it was about it, but made it look less flamey to me.

I've never really cared too much for looks9i think they both work), BUT i Gotta believe that guitar is going to sound great with the AII's. I love they way that top looks.

That looks waaaaaay better now. I think it would look even better with a cream switch tip and some amber top hat knobs. That black looks out of place on there now.

I like both, but the cream really sits well on there. I don't think Zebra would look very good with that color.

I'm with those who prefer the chrome hardware and double cream pickups. For some reason i very rarely find black hardware appealing.

I think a nice touch would be to have chrome beauty rings on those pickups (you know those 'open top' covers).

I also agree that gold hardware would look impressive, too.

i think the better light in the 'after' photos and the clean i think you gave it while the strings were off makes more difference

do you have chrome tuners for it, too? if so, i'd keep the chrome on there

i don't normally appreciate the full-cream offensive, but on that guitar (nice score, btw!) it really works

anyone else getting a billy duffy vibe off that thing?

EDIT - if you do keep the double-cream set in, amber tip/knobs would set it off

#2 for sure. I also think that god hardware would look great, but it is quite nice in chrome!

Appears so. I expected to like black better but didnt.
But what do I know, I am about to put chrome covered pickups in a black guitar with black trim rings, an aged bridge (on black posts), a black tailpiece, and aged tuners
