    Re: NGD, Ibby Content

The pickups don't have good sustain. Change them out with Dimarzios or Duncans to improve sustain and tone. You should also check the Ibanez forum and see what those guys suggest. I was reading a few threads about how Ibanez puts some rubber inserts under some of their trems which robs sustain. They claim to have removed them to solve the sustain problems.

I have played 3 of the Premiums and all of them came farily well setup from the factory and sounded great. I didn't notice a sustain problem like you describe and I can only think it's probably the setup. You need to adjust the bridge height and neck curvature. If you're down-tuning real low, you're going to kill the sustain too. I wouldn't play an Ibanez tuned down more than 1/2 step.

They're great guitars and almost as good as the Prestige models. You should keep it and find a way to solve your sustain problem. You won't find a better guitar for the money.

A killer guitars big block can help sustain with a trem..
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

This is how the guitar came, I guess it's possible the guy changed it and mounted the pickups in rings... not sure why he would do that, I will check that out tonight...

Will do this tonight too...I have been playing the snot out of it and it needs new strings anyways... will take the neck off during string change tonight...

I am playing the guitar is standard tuning as well so that is not the issue here...

Ahhh, it's got old strings yet? That can (and hopefully will) do...

Hope you can make it work man! It looks gorgeous.
Also, doesn't that trem allow for full floating, forward-only or fixed bridge action?

They are only about a week old but have a ton of play time on them already and I am pretty sure I have worn them out...

The bridge allows for full floating it's almost identical to the Edge Zero with very slight differences...

Oh, I was gonna suggest like someone else did, that you set it for dive-only and
                        check what happened.

If you're really determined on making that axe work, buy a Tremol-No.
I had one in my RG1550, it's a priceless tool.
