I have played Fender Strats, ESPs, LPs, and recently picked up an 86' Charvel Model 2. It looks a little like my 84 Kramer Baretta...but with subtle differences..like the volume pot!
The volume pot on my Kramer is lower/back towards the floyd or at the bottom corner of the PUP frame. The Charvel volume pot is near the center of the PUP frame...which means when I down stroke I am hitting the volume knob and it is turning down. By time I get to the solo in a song, if I don't check the volume knob, it is turned down.
I tend to fan my hand when I pick ala Lynch/Demartini. I was going to relocate the volume pot, but don't want to put another hole in the body. I tried changing the way I pick..not happening after 20 years.
Is there a volume pot that has a detent when fully on, so that it won't turn down that easy when inadvertantly touched?
Thanks
