Those are super heavy, this guitar is light as a feather.
Ah very cool, man. I like that a lot!

Thats sick man. The mark close to the upper horn area makes the whole thing for me, somehow. Perhaps its the general weathered look of the body that makes the whole thing look so damned inviting. I like.

Awesome, man. I really like the grain on that ash.

Ok, I'll break it down. The body was the most expensive part, $220. But, we're talking light weight swamp ash with a perfect finish (imo) and routed for a humbucker and included the entire control plate with pots and the bridge. I don't know how to finish or rout so it was a steal if you ask me.

The neck was $89, musiciansfriend gift card used. That was the whole reason I did this project. Wanted to spend my gift card and some awesome person on a previous thread suggested a tele build.

The JB was $45 used, GFS mini $35 new, pickguard $19, tuners $34. I think that covers the major expenses.

Grand total: $442, but only $353 out of pocket on account of the gift card.

I think the only thing that could improve that guitar at all would be a tortoise pickguard...but that's just preference.

                            What's the GFS like?

The GFS is killer, I hope more people try out this pickup, but there are only so many of us with minibucker guitars. It is exactly what I want a neck bucker to sound like, fat, warm, but also clear and very tight for high gain soloing.

I have the same pickup waiting to go into a Tele type thing, very glad to hear your glowing review!
