    Hey guys, just thought i'd share a link to my blog... any helpful tips are appreciated!



    (sorry in advance if my humor offends anyone... i'm used to it by now)

      this looks like it'll be a very fun project I'm digging your ideas so far and love the finish you have in mind.

      If you decide to compound radius just keep in mind that going from 7/9 to 12 is pretty drastic.

      A fellow guitar builder I know has his own neck design and he uses 12-15 radius. I personally use a proprietary radius of 9-12.

        Thanks guys! Right now, all of my guitars are 12" radius... i can see the benefit of going rounder towards the nut and flatter up high, so i went with the Warmoth 10"-16" radius. Didn't want to go anywhere near 7-9, my old man's Tele is 7.5 and i'm not the biggest fan.

          then some variety will do you good.

          I like the 9-12 because it gives you the best of Fender/Gibson and I use a contour similar to a PRS wide fat because I like the chunky necks the edges are nicely rounded too for a comfortable play. I also like jumbo frets.
