  • NGD - Frankenstein

Just bought this Frankenstein on ebay..... comes with a Tele neck with an ebony board fitted with Curruthers tuners.
Anyone familiar with the Ibanez Saber? - this one does not have a locking trem.
It plays just fine.... and doesn't sound too bad even with the stock pups.
not sure why the photo is not coming up???

Is that body an Ibanez Saber.....or whatever they were called?

Well done... yes, it is supposed to be a Saber - has a dark mahogany two piece body showing on the rear and the amber finish on the front.... seems to be in very good condition hardly a mark or on scrape on it.
The previous owner put that Tele neck on it... birds eye maple with an ebony board.

Me too! And with a winning bid of $113 I'm thinking it was a bargain too. That Tele neck would probably cost that much on its own...

                  That's a steal!

It's an SV420. Mahogany body, maple top, Axis pups.

Yeah, it says just S420 here but the spec sheet on the next page of the catalogue has SV420.

Thanks for the input - now at least I know which model I bought... its the basic 2 pup model without the locking trem but still looks OK.
