  • Austin SG?

Thoughts? Anyone have one or played one? How's the neck, is it thin or fat? Was the action good? Is it a good guitar?

I had an Austin PRS copy. It was a decent enough guitar, but it was made out of alder instead of mahogany. If that matters, find out before you get the SG copy.

Not sure, but aren't they pretty low budget, like entry level? I'd much rather have an Epi G-400. I can count on a certain level of quality in materials and workmanship. You can get used Epi G-400's for good prices.

Thanks. Some guy was offering one as a trade on CL for one of my Strats I have. And not knowing anything about the Austin guitars, I had to ask.

        I didn't accept the trade.

FWIW, I had an Austin copy of a 335. It was all maple like its Epi counterparts, and well made.
