baby Taylor 1 vs 2

hi
i played with the baby taylor 1 (solid sitka spruce)

but i played 2 times with the bt2 (mahogany) and the sound had a brighter sound, good with fingerpicking and arpeggios
low action

but if you have played with both of them, it seems than the bt2 has not the same powerful than the bt1
bt1 would be loud and the other wouldn't be as loud as the other (i talk about the sound with a pick when you play strong and loud)
if you have ever played with these 2 guitars, tell us

i look for the new models

so it's hard to choose if one guitar has a loud sound and the other a bright sound
the mix would perfect

this guitar will always be played unplugged (most of the times) so if the bt2 is less powerful than the other, ?problem?

i tried the bt2 and you have more trebles
i liked it : bright sound

but in the video, you will see the positive effects or spruce too

For the record, my acoustic is a big dread with a spruce top. My second will be a small one with a mahogany top. So... I think you need them both long term.

The Baby Taylor with the spruce top is going to be louder and will mature faster. The Taylor's are plenty bright enough for fingerpicking, even with the spruce.

If I were looking for a small guitar, I would choose the Taylor GS Mini over the Baby, as it has a much fuller sound and a better neck joint. And there are a few companies around offering "parlor guitars" with small bodies that have very nice tone as well. If you can swing it, the 214 Series are excellent guitars for fingerpicking and will have much better projection than the smaller guitars.

listen at 3'33" that's the main difference
a cold sound / a bright sound

i think that for a powerful sound, a loud sound, i think the spruce top will be better
thanks but i just want to play in armchair or bed or chair
i have a dreadnought but if i go to a garden for example, now i prefer a little guitar ; it's really cool for a sofa, armchair
and a big guitar can't be good for me or later just for some moments

i don't need a loud sound and with the fingers i think the bt2 is better

if i buy one, it's to sell my MARTIN lX1E because the sound is loud, strong, powerful but not bright
hard to play
it's not a very bright sound whereas i really had fun with the bt2 in the shop : the sound was really beautiful or it depends on the room too
i suppose

i really just want a little guitar because for my use, i don't need a big guitar at home and the BT have now a tuner and preamp for recordings or amps

i played the gs MINI too : i don't like this cold sound
i prefer the brightness of the BT2

and if some people want a TAYLOR for beginner i would suggest to buy the BIG BABY TAYLOR

i tried the big baby and gs mini too : the big baby is better , the sound has a brighter sound than the GS
i was fed up with the GS just in some minutes because the bib baby was better ( about the sound) where the GS a cold sound
the big baby was more interesting

In my experience, the Baby Taylor, of any wood, sounds worse the louder you try to play it. It really rewards a light, soft touch and tends to fall apart (sonically) under hard strumming.

So I wouldn't choose a Baby based on volume. That'd be like picking a sports car based on trunk size. You're just not playing to the strengths of the design.

it's not a guitar to play loud or you will play with another gauge
but alone or when i play cool songs with fingers i don't need to play loud

but when i played with the BT2 it was so beautiful i could not stop myself

someone ( a specialist) told me some important things

picking or with fingers = BT2 (mahogany)
with a pick or for rhythm : BT1 (spruce top)
and it's true but like always the mix would have been good !

i wait for the BT2 E because i had good moments better than the bt1 but it's hard to know
2 shops: 2 sensations

Strings are extremely important Since June 1, 1999, we've been installing Elixir Strings on all steel string Taylor models, and currently we use Elixir's ultra-thin NANOWEB design. In 2014, we switched from 80/20 Bronze to Phosphor Bronze on most steel-string acoustic models.its cheap in cost $398.00 so i love baby Taylor
