Every time I see the cover of Metallica's Death Magnetic, I think of how pickups would look without being covered up before steel wool comes near them.

That's pretty much how the paper and tape looks on top of the pickups when you do this!

It's a chambered black korina LP (pre-lawsuit) from Warmoth with a two point Wilkinson trem. The neck is a Warmoth 24.75" conversion neck with a 59 roundback profile made out of wenge with a ziricote fretboard. She has been my daily player for a long time now. I am trying to minimize her use in the near future but I am not sure if I will ever like the way a guitar plays and sounds as much as this one. She just feels like home.
