That guitar needs some Saturday Night Specials, though.

That color wasnt available in 15

The bucker rings and bridge are stock. So's the pickguard. Knobs may or may not be stock, cant see well enough on pic.

sidenote: Technically, for it to be a '61 RI SG, the horn bevels need to be deeper.

He said he was looking for a 61 RI and found the standard. Not picking, just saying.

Thanks Darg111, this 2015 SG Std is a killer guitar.

                    2013, 2014 and 2015 are made like a '61 Ri

The Gibson ABR-1 with adapters is ready to install, I hate the big Nashville bridge

What's the difference between the bridges?

                        Re: Gibson SG cool upgrades

                        Looks mainly......and reduced saddle travel.

Construction wise, the abr is solid, but many of the Nashville styles are hollow under the saddles.

For mine, changing over the wood bushings to a 1-piece is the main improvement, as the interface between bushing and height adjust thumbwheels is pretty loose usually.

Gorgeous! I love when wood is done right. Enjoy.

IME they have a different frequency focus. The Nashville is fatter sounding, while the ABR has less low mids and more airy highs. As far as which sounds better, it's a matter of preference IMO as the difference is noticeable but not huge.

Which is why many people play electric guitars but very very few of them are actually musicians.
