  • Scored a Rare Bird Today...

Fernandes Mockingbird. Super fun guitar. Has a volume defeat switch so if the volume is turned down all the way it’s a kill switch. All factory stock with Gotoh Japan bridge and locking tuners.

That's cool. Didn't know those existed.

Either did I. Evidently it’s a “Hide” X Japan model. Fernandes MG100X BLK.

You do realize that one is a travel size mini guitar?

If the volume is turned all the way down why would you need a kill switch? The volume all the way down is already killing it, no?
                      Am I missing something?

The on/off on/off flipped back and forth at full volume is a pretty cool effect but also with the switch flipped off you don’t have to worry about bumping the volume knob by accident. I’m really not sure what the exact purpose is other than that’s how Hideto wanted it. I guess I should take a good look at how it’s wired and see if there is a cap there that gets bypassed or something.

If it works like an on/off so you can get that stutter effect, then I get it. Ilqhenni first read it I was unsure exactly how it worked. Seemed like if the volume knob was dialed off, it didn’t made sense.
                          Very cool guitar though!

Fernandes made some great copy guitars.
