TV Jones sells dogear adapters for their Filtertrons, and offer those in a remarkably wide range of voicings.

But yeah, the best advice is (still) probably to leave it be.

You would be better off leaving the Wildcat as a P90 guitar and looking for something else.

Rio Grande makes Mini-humbuckers with dog ear covers, as well as multiple P90s with dog ear covers.
