I had this one for two weeks or so and I think it is an essential tool for any guitarist. Check it out.

      $17.95 ... I know it's not cheap for a small metal plate

Stewmac sells a lot of useful stuff like this, but the prices are rediculous! No wonder a "set up" costs $40 and up!

It is probably one of those - why did'nt I think about making one of those gadgets. So is that a good price or should one just get one those steel rules?

I may need to get something like that fairly soon as I am hoping to join some of you tinkerers really soon, instead of keeping my local tech in business!!

Yeah, they really do jack up their prices. I wanted one of those special rulers with the fret gaps to measure neck relief...until I found out it was $100.
