  • broken trem arm

I broke the tremolo arm on my strat. The screw end is stuck in the trem.block. Does anyone know how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated... Thanks.

Try superglue on the end of a chopstick. Push it down onto the broken part and see if you can get the glue to stick, then carefully unscrew it.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to take it to a small machine shop and see if they can tap it and drill it out.

        Gearjoneser has your ticket rhmcfarland!!!
I used to fix Toyota's and let me tell you that Superglue/Chopstick trick has saved my bumm countless times.
If it comes to drilling it out, be very careful. I would seek out a machine shop, as they will have carbide drill bits and have a better chance of making a clean Center Punch crucial for extraction.

          Johnjohn,
You are totally right, if you are not experienced at hard metal extraction you are in for a tough time indeed. But they didn't call me the "Weasel Master" for nothing in the auto shop. Keeping the drill slow and well lubricated will help but this is by no means an easy job.

for the replies... bought an e-z out at home depot. I'll do my best, but I kinda have my doubts about this.
