I have a few guitars but my Music Man Axis/EVH guitar is the only electric I've had out for the last month. The only electric I've been playing for the last month. I love it to pieces. Sounds so good. One of the only guitars I own that I wouldn't change a thing.

Now this sad news that Eddie's passed. Damn.

I just received a set of zebra EVH Wolfgang pickups from UPS today.

Unbelievable coincidence. Don't know what I'll put them in. Just wanted them.

One of the true greats has passed.
Thankfully he got a full measure of years to give his creativity to us all.

There is already another EVH thread, so you can put EVH tributes in that other thread.

Still remember the first time I heard Van Halen.

Was relaxing after work and listening to the local rock station. The disk jockey said that he received an album a couple of days ago and listened to it several times and decided this band is going to change guitar playing and rock and roll in ways we couldn't imagine. He then told us to get our tape decks ready to record because he was going to play the full album.

Next day, and this was the middle of the week, several of us gathered and turned on the stereo for the most incredible 40 minutes or so.

Thinking back, I remember hearing Fresh Cream for the first time ...... Are You Experienced for the first time ..... after these two albums, I thought it was all down hill from there and I was wrong.

                        RIP Eddie Van Halen.

That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.

Rest in Peace Eddie. He will live on in our minds, and in our ears. The good thing is his music will never die. Music has a life of it's own - inside our consciousness. So in a way, he is alive inside millions of us. His contribution was very significant. Very few people can say that about theirs.
