  • Trick out my Tele

I got this Player Series Tele a couple weeks ago on super sale from Sweetwater. First Telecaster, and I'd been Fender-less for most of 2020. And before 2020, I hadn't bought a new-new guitar since 2003. So I'm itching to customize it and make it mine. Yes, I know, I should play it for a while before doing any mods, but it's fun to plan ahead

What are some fun "try this!" Tele mods? "Vibe" mods and practical mods welcome.

Thinking black 1-ply pickguard, vintage style bridge with compensated saddles, and vintage tuners all look pretty cool and add to the "vibe", are pretty reversible and don't cost much. A different control plate could be cool too - the stock one is so shiny and new, it feels weird.

Not ready to swap pickups yet. The stock ones seem to have a lot to offer.

A big question: pick up an unfinished thinline body and try attaching this neck to it? Adventurous...

Thanks for indulging my inner monologue!
