This isn't my usual brand of stupid, but ever since these first came out, I've found them weirdly alluring. The house has been full of a LOT of scooped-mid riffing this morning.

Burstbuckers, but I don't remember which ones off the top of my head. 1 & 2? 2 & 3? Not the Pros, I remember that.
My first impression is that I really like them, whatever they are, but we'll see what I think after the new has worn off.

My favorite pickup for metal and punk is the Duncan Custom, which is pretty moderate output, by modern standards. So I'm fairly forgiving on that front, I suppose.
But yeah, these definitely have a lot of non-metal versatility. More chime, even before I split them, than the minibuckers in my St. V*, which surprised me.
For Big Dumb Rawk, I use a Wampler Catapulp. It's got enough gain to make my Dano roar, so...
*-I should really swap out the 250k pots in that thing for 500ks.

Just noticed that the little tagger on the tone knob says it's got a phase switch. Someone must have grabbed from the wrong bin at the factory.
Still... I've never done the Peter Green thing. Might be an idea, when the kill switch inevitably breaks.
Oh, and I looked it up: BB1 in the neck, BB2 in the bridge. So to Aceman's point, it's not exactly breathing fire, despite the looks.1 Photo---------------------------

That guitar always made me want to order one just like it, and if I was ever going to have a V again it would definitely be in the running.

I am happy to see a V in a color other than black or red. I dig the look, even if I'm not a V guy.Administrator of the SDUGF

Yeah, I'm not a V guy, either. But I'm a THIS V guy. It's just irresistibly dumb. The fact that it sounds great is just a bonus.

Well - the amp is always a factor. I agree any pickup can be "metal" with the gain most amps have today. Of ten normal output lets you use more of the amp and is more clear/articulalte than hot into hot, which is usually hot mess.Originally posted by Bad City

Just noticed that it has an "Epiphone 2016" sticker on the back. Ran the serial number and it came back as an August 2018 build.
Which explains why these were out of stock for pretty much all of last year, and then a few showed up at GC and Zzounds this past spring- and sold out quickly. Epi must've found some old stock somewhere and sent them out.---------------------------
