  • Gold speed knobs needed for Epiphone Explorer

If I pick up an Epiphone Explorer I think I would like to put on a white pickguard with gold speed knobs. Can someone post a few links to a pickguard and knobs that will fit correctly?

You just need import speed knobs. Those are everythere; StewMac, Allparts, GuitarElectronics LLC, you name it.

I get pickguards from WD Music or cut my own. But some of those aftermarket companies I just mentioned occasionally have stock replacements.

I dont have links but I got all my speed knobs off of ebay and Amazon. $12-$15 shipped usually and they just press on. These were on split shaft pots tho. Not sure if yours are or not. They have all sorts of colors and combinations tho so you should really check them out! Share a picture if you end up getting them and get them on.

I would like to get an epiphone les paul but in white with gold hardware.. basically copying a Gibson custom I've always loved the look of. It would have to have the carved top tho. Such good looking guitars they are.

Yep, most any supplier will have speed knobs in either US or import sizing. Maybe a hundred variations to be had on eBay.
Just be sure you get import spec.

Pickguard might be a little harder to source than the knobs - I believe the Epi is slightly different from a Gibson one. Not sure though.

I don't think those pickguards would fit properly. The hole to the right of the toggle switch is too far down. I called WD Music and spoke with a woman who told me that if I supply a tracing they can custom make me a pickguard for the Epiphone Explorer that would fit with all holes lining up correctly.

Bummer now is it appears that you cannot buy a Korina Explorer anywhere. They are all out of stock and backordered. Black is still available but I don't know how keen I am on black as a color.
