I would like to get one of the bob weir deluxe Bedford models. They are so badass two SD stacked p90's(splittable) and a lollar single coil in the middle with a blend knob and a trem, cmon now ...
It's funny how some stories became historic,
especially when the authors clearly wrote them to be metaphoric,
But people will believe anything when it's written in stone or ancient scroll...-Fat Mike

I saw this guitar in the music store today and hated its finish. It is an ultra-flat satin finish. I didn't even pick it up. I did play a checkerboard Jackson and hated the neck on it.

It is the SDOTD again in blue with the trem. I played two recently and while they are decent guitars they are not anything I need to run out and buy even at $399.

At $400 off, it would certainly be worth it to get it and either block the trem or take it out and put a hardtail bridge on it. I'll bet you could get some pretty sweet tones out of that guitar. Also, the mounting of the bridge pup has been an esthetic problem for some, but then again, it's not so hard to make a new one that surrounds that pup...so, no separate pup ring, just pickguard-mounted like the other pups.

The specs on this model say it has a "gloss" finish.

I played two one in a music store and there is one at the recording studio. Both times I played them I was "whelmed" not even motivated enough to plug in to an amp 10 feet away either time.
