  • 2021 Squier Contemporary Jaguar HH ST coil split/tap

Hello! I was wondering if the 2021 Squier Contemporary Jaguar HH ST has both coil tap and coil split? I ask because I notice when in series mode, it doesn’t cancel single coil hum but in parallel mode it does. Is this normal? If yes how does it work that way?

If it's split/parallel within one pickup, the reason you get noise when split is because you're only using one coil from the pickup. Parallel uses both coils, which is still humcancelling.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.

It would be a rare thing to have a tapped humbucker. Tapping usually refers to singles.

It truly is! It’s my favourite electric guitar of my collection! And most versatile too!

            Yup.
I think you can get Zhangbuckers that are set up to tap.

Maybe, it isn't a common thing in humbuckers.

Highly uncommon. Just giving a good winder some exposure and kudos for doing innovative things.

My S2 splits are actually more like a tap. You still get both coils, just less of one.
