X2N/Evolution Neck. I had that combo in my Epi 1959. I just ripped it out. I'm probably going to stick the Black Winter/Super 2 in the 1959 now.

I like how the X2N sounds in this guitar. I honestly just overall like how this guitar sounds better. It's fatter and throatier yet still with a very prominent attack (I felt it was too attack-y with the BW). Sounds more like a Les Paul.

I liked the extra top end bite that came with the maple-necked Norlin era Les Pauls I had.

I know! As soon as they took it off the shelf for me to try and I saw it, I fell in love.

Compared to my mahogany neck Epiphone, this is actually fatter and throatier.

Swapped out the pickups cause I wasn't feeling the Black Winter in this particular guitar.
Love the black-on-black look of the pickups. I have never seen that in a LP it is mad cool.

Thank you! I wish Duncan offered more pickups like that like the Blackened Black Winter and the Alpha/Omega.

I have SD pickups with black powder coated covers, with black logos in the corner of each pickup. Very cool look.

The studios are not the prettiest LPs but they are the best playing.

This one plays alright. My best playing guitars have always been LTD's. I slightly like how my Epiphone 1959 feels better. This one sounds INSANE, though.

I am dying to hear the science behind this.

I kinda like the understated Studio. But I also liked the original Firebrands of the early 80s, too.
