What's the bast way to buff out a few semi-deep scratches in pick guards?

The reason these scratches bother me is that they're single deeper scratches and they are incongruent with where normal scratches would be.

I don't know, maybe I was drunk and acting like Pete Townsend some time ago

You've got to buy a brand new guitar which you take a belt sander to yourself, or buy one which comes pre belt sanded by the factory (for an extra $500 or more, naturally), but playing your [grand]dad's Strat isn't cool.

            Nucking futz.
No belt sander. I put the guitar in the car trunk with landscaping stones and drive around with it back there for a week or two.

^ I tie mine to the bumper and drive around the GC parking lot until the desired effect is achieved.

                  Exactly my thoughts too.

Dynamite is the best solution if you want to fake relic your guitar.

(Oh yeah...the dynamite would be for YOU not the guitar)!

I'm not a fan of naturally reliced guitars at all either. But they are definitely better than the fake ones.

They're pretty deep, I don't hink it will ever be right without new pick guards.

Same here, I'm like couldn't you take better care of that thing?
