  • Tuners turning the wrong way?

I bought some Gotohs to upgrade the sad tuners on a squier strat I picked up. After a bit of finessing they fit in and look great. Started to string it up and realized that the tuners turn the opposite direction than expected. Toward the body or clockwise tightens them up

they work great but this bugs me to no end. Did I somehow buy lefty tuners? Can they be switched?

these are not vintage style tuners. They are the encased ones

Sounds like lefty tuners, or someone made an inline set out of two bottom halves of a 3x3 set? Can you exchange them?

To switch direction, you'd have to change the the key turn part of the tuner, because it's a screw that runs the cog wheel of the tuner, and you'd need that screw to work the other way.

Yep, it's a lefty set. Return them and get a right hand set.

Perfect excuse to get a reverse headstock Strat and upgrade it. "Hey, I've already got the parts."
