  • Jumbo frets on a fretboards with a rounder radius

Can you put Jumbo frets on fretboards with rounder radius like the ones on a typical Fender Stratocaster? You normally see these frets on guitars with flater radius like Ibanez guitar. Will Jumbo frets work well on a fretboard with a rounder radius?

absolutely. i dont care for a 7.25" radius but you could do it without issue, ive had jumbos on 9.5" and loved it

Sure! A smaller radius isn't a thing I like (I like at least 9.5") but I like jumbo frets. But I've played vintage strats with jumbo frets, and it works.

Fretboard radius shouldn't have any affect on the size of the fretwire used.

My '63 was refretted with jumbos sometime before I bought it I love the feel of that neck.
