  • Kramer Focus 2000 body

    Hello!
i’ve owned this Kramer guitar for literally almost 40 years now (first Floyd Rose tremolo released) and I’ve been wondering if the body is alder or ash: does anybody have a clue?

Could be alder, could be poplar. Did you fill in the neck pickup? The 2000 came with 2 humbuckers. The 1000 had a slanted bridge humbucker. The Pacer Special (American Series) came with a straight bridge humbucker like yours. I don’t think any Kramer back then was made of ash.

ID:	6275593 I i had the neck pickup removed and swapped the bridge pup for a DiMarxio PAF. Can the serial number give me more info on it?

Nope. Serial numbers are pretty much random with those. Whether it’s alder or poplar really means little. There’s not much tonal difference between them. Those were a great value back then and still are if you can find them at the right price.

I seriously doubt that it was/is ash.
