Boss GT6

I spent about an hour with one of these today, with my guitar and a comprable amp to my own. I really liked some of the stuff I was getting out of it, and that was even without tweaking anything. It eventually came down to me deciding that there was no way I would touch even the tip of the iceburg in the store, so I would have to leave it at that... plus it was closing time. The other thing they had was the PODXT, but that (when you figure in the footswitch) is considerably more expensive, and in my reading, I've found considerably less bad things about the boss than I've found about the POD. I understand that it's not going to be as cool as something like... the Mesa I still crave, but for practical purposes (being in college), I am more than willing to deal with the slight drop in 'coolness' So do any of you know about it?

I have owned one for over a year now, and I have to say it's a great piece of equipment. I have recorded most of my clips with it...and it's super flexable.

I found about 10 patches that sounded pretty good on their own...just run through the effects loop of my JCM 800. And for practicing thru headphones this thing rocks. Several of the amp models sound very much like the real thing. When I record, I use the headphone out directly into my sound card and have gotten some kick ass tones out of it.

I've messed with the effects as well. Some are really good, and others are just so so. For $399 new you can't beat it. You can spend that on 4 Boss pedals or 1 or 2 boutique pedals and not have anywhere near the options.

I have probably only explored about 20% of what it can do....but I wouldn't be without it. I tried the POD and took it back. This was for me.

Get a GS-10, you get SOO much more for 100 more bucks, trust me.
