  • Pickup booster pedal gain

I have never been much of a fan of distortion out of pedals, so i try to find amps with a relatively high gain setting and high output pickups (super distortions, invaders, EMGs, and the like). but i run into a problem in the form of finding a balance between high gain and usable clean. I am looking into a Marshall DLC40C combo. the cleans are more than usable for what i need but the gain needs a little more "oomph". I do not want to distort the tone or color it, just up the gain. how is the Booster pedal at doing this?

PS. i know there are better Amps than the DSL range, but im not looking for the 2-3,000 price tag of other All tube combos.
sigpic the Perfect stack is a good combo on a stand

    Carvin X100B. Or Legacy

Carvins have nice cleans.in all their models
The two mentioned above also have nice high gain channels
Which I believe have independent EQ

    V3 & V3m also have independent EQ

I have never used a DSL, but my DOD FX10 Bi-Fet Preamp has been a great boost for all of my other amps.
