I heard that using pedals without using a power supply (just using their individual adapters into a multi plug) can damage pedals. Is it true?

And if you would use some kind of snake (like this) beware of watching the polarity. Mixing in some old germanium fuzzes for instance can give you some trouble... But when using all separated adapters there should be no problems at all. What can happen though is that one of the (poorer quality) adapters gives you some noise, especially this switching (class D) PSU's, they can sometimes dump some more (HF) noise onto the ground of your pedal causing noisy guitar. They are nice, small and popular though, and often are just fine.Unbelief is safe, because it takes no risk and almost always gets what it expects.
