    Joyo JiBin Signature Overdrive

I got this pedal a few days ago. There's not much out there about this pedal yet, so I thought I'd share.

It sounds a lot like a Klone, with a big, warm mid emphasis, nice clean boosty sort of tone. The bass end on the JiBin is much bigger, though. It naturally has a "chug chug chug" sound you can really escape form when you play the lower string. When I was jamming with a bassist and drummer, I felt the treble end was a bit too dark, and cranking the tone knob up to "7" or "8" on the dial helped a little, but the presence was lacking, even with bright, cutting single coils. It's a rather soft lead tone. The amount of gain is rather light, a true overdrive pedal. It doesn't really do full blown distortion.

I mostly prefer to use overdrives for a cleanish break up tone for chord work, I'm always in search of a good sizzle tone and good note separation. This pedal is letting me down on that end only because the bottom end is so very flabbly and unnecessarily big. It could have used a bass control.

I would have thought this to be a Zendrive clone from the cosmetics
