is the puretone a buffer? dont most of those pedals already have buffers?

Actually, if I stood to the left of the board, this actually makes sense. As a right footer, I could use the top or bottom pedal without worry.

Some do some don't. I'm running 15 foot of cable to and from the loop and using that buffer is like taking a blanket off the amp tone wise. Trust me, it's a very noticeable difference in tone when you pull the buffer. My Zinky Velvet loop is set for rack mount effects by Bruce and any cable run to pedals really kills the tone., I started out trying the buffer on that amp. I however was shocked when I tried one on my other rigs at the tonal improvement. Now I run one on every board where I'm running pedals in the loop. It's like instantly taking a blanket off the amp with pedals in the loop, very noticeable tonal difference. Now sounds the same with the loop in and out even with everything off, as without the buffer there is a notable loss of sparkle and tone with a long cable run and several effects even if the pedals are buffered.

          • Put this together today. Basic board for my Jet City JCA 22H and or first Gen PRS Archon 50 head. Wampler ERGO and Belle OD into the front and running a Boss DD3 Delay and Newnaber Wet verb in the loop with 15 foot cables to the input and the loop. Have a pure Tone buffer in the loop and is all powered by a Gator Power 5. Simple straight forward board.

              Acoustic Board

And this is my amp, and however many 5 pedal boards I need, but in manual mode it is usually:

              - Boss Super Overdrive into amp
              Post amp:
              - Dimension Chorus Pedal
              - Digital Delay
              - Hall Rever
              - EQ for lead boost

                  LOVE it!

It just slays for Living On A Prayer. Just simple and works. I indeed run the gain up pretty high. Maybe around 2/3 o clock. Level varies a bit from gig to gig depending on PA settings.

But Wah vs TB? No comparison.

Working on enunciating "Do You Feel." Still get the tube opening blocked on my tongue every once and again.

I pulled an "I'm OK" last gig was pretty clear...

                  • Yeah, it is not only a fun box but amazing sounding. I have the gain set at the same spot. I have mine first in the chain so when it is engaged it mutes the board. People dig Sweet Emotion and Hair of the Dog when I use it.

The Firebox is used for clean to high-gain just by riding the guitar volume and switching pickups, and the boost switch add compressor, boost and delay for lead.
As you can see I can add one more pedal but I don't need drives or boost pedals with that amp model. Suggestion?

                        Maybe some kind of modulation?

Flanger. You can get half a dozen different types of modulation to fit in one spot on your board
You will never understand How it feels to live your life With no meaning or control And with nowhere left to go You are amazed that they exist And they burn so bright
Whilst you can only wonder why

Pick up a used H9 not only will you have every effect you will ever need but you will be able to also loose the tuner.

I won't be able to power the Firebox and an H9 out of the small USB battery pack that fits under this tiny pedalboard.

That's what I was also thinking. Any pedal you recommend that can do flange + other modulations?
Needs to play well in front of the amp as there's no effects loop in the Firebox and I want to keep the XLR out.
                                And true bypass.
