    Just gunna chime in here and say it's (to my recollection) the only piece of gear I actually returned not due to a defect...I would get the same sound by throwing a blanket over my amp.

    Also, the Sonic Maximizer works best in the effects loop. Not so well into the front.

    I've got both the 382i and the 482i. Both the same unit, but the 482i has individual controls for both channels. I like mine, but understand, it's a very subtle effect. It's like an Aphex Aural Exciter lite. It really sounds best when listening to MP3's with headphones.

    I'll let my 382i go cheap. New in the box.

    The big difference as far as I can tell, is the input/output jacks. Some are set up for PA applications and use XLR connectors.

    The Maximizer should go last in your chain, just before it hits the amp.

    Title says it all, pretty much. It will be used to add a little sparkle to a solid state stereo rack power amp that sounds good but lacks a little high end. Are there any differences between the models for guitar purposes?
