That so funny to read that, I've used a sound tank delay for like 10 years and it's always been just perfect. I've even sold off much much "better" delays to keep this plastic ugly thing cuz it sounds right.

Simon the Magpie has some pretty ugly units. He's a Swedish fella that spends his days making pedals out of random stuff, from hearing aids to toy microphones. Here are his takes on the MT-2 and DS-1:

You will never understand How it feels to live your life With no meaning or control And with nowhere left to go You are amazed that they exist And they burn so bright
Whilst you can only wonder why

Not ugly, but a great experiment to see what can be done. Not really my thing, though. I dig the barbed wire right above where you stomp, though.

I wonder if all those wires actually connect something or if they're just for decoration. Would suck if you disconnect and forget where they're supposed to go.

                    I'd be all over those.

But I'd also love a Moog Modular...

Looks like a “circuit bent” version, so all the relevant points are there to probe.

(One of the stupidest terms and activities, IMO... turning engineering back into alchemy)

They were going for the retro 50's or early 60's car thing. It's not my bag, but the full size pedals sounded good. I still have an original Cool Cat chorus (18v) and Dan-Echo Delay. I don't use either effect much but those two give me exactly what I want.

I have a small Danelectro Surf & Turf which is one of the best compressors I've ever used.
