  • Good Drum Machine Pedal?

I know nothing about drum machines or drumming. What are some good drum machines that are flexible but also have good preset rhythms?

My Nux looper came with some programmed beats

    About 25 or 30

My digitech GNX multi effects pedal as well

But the BeatBuddy and Boss DR drum machine come to mind

Alesis makes one . My buddy has that one

There are a ton of software options out there. What is your application going to be?

I bought a Boss DR-3 to start with but my goal is to eventually start making experimental type hip-hop beats.

I'm probably not going to get into sampling, but I might try to mash different mo-town licks together on top of a drum beat and experiment to see what electronic noises I can throw on top with my synth and various pedals.

I'd like to stick to the hardware side of things for now, but I'm also open to moving into digital, especially if I do decide to start sampling.

Most basic looper pedals, like the Jamman and Boss RC-2/-3 have rhythms in a bunch of styles, with no programming needed. You can save them as presets, too .
