  • Leaving pedals in fx loop

Hi. I know i made a similar topic about this years ago but in search of a quick refresher.

Is it ok to leave pedals plugged into an fx loop? I've been unplugging them out of habbit. Would be easier if i could just leave them plugged in. Would that be considered safe?

Safe? If it’s safe to use them, it’s safe to leave them plugged in. Of course the battery caveat always applies, leaving a battery powered pedal plugged in will drain just like always.
    Oh no.....

    Oh Yeah!

Over time, as i stated earlier i your previous thread,
over time the jacks will fail
remember the swtiches we talked about
Like a headphone jack that shuta off the external speakers when the cable is inserted

That switch is held open when the plug is inserted

Over time dust and gunk gets on the contacts
      Making it fail

      Not a big deal
But when you go to remove the cables you will need to jusmp the send and return with a patch cable

I've had to do it on all.mine

Just leave them in. I have NEVER heard of or experienced any problems from this ever and I'm in my 50's
