  • Raising the Pickup Height?

How will raising the height of your pickup alter tone?
Does the neck to be to way lower than the bridge. I am using a custom in the bridge and stock in the neck. My current problem may have to do with Pup height cause at the moment I might have it too low.

What is a rough guide to pickup height? How far away does it need to be, i..e 4mm from the strings (DONT use 4/16 or whatever cause I dont understand that)

Do what I always do: tweak it until it sounds good. If you're worried about losing your old settings, count the number of turns as you move the pickup up and down.

Yup, this is exactly how it should be done. Since the height alters the tone, why not use it to fine tune the sound to your liking?
