  • replacement pickups for strat

ive been playing guitar for about 5 years and am upgrading my affinity strat. I play mostly rock and grungey type stuff. I was wondering whether it would be good to fit a bridge humbucker? I have been looking at the sh-4 jb model and like the sound of it but what does everyone else think? Also to replace the single coils are ssl- vintage staggered any good? Cheers

    Re: replacement pickups for strat

    the SSLs are great

the choice of going to a bridge HB is a matter of personal preference

first check the routing on your guitar - if it's already routed for HSH or HSS and you don't have to do any additional routing, then it's less hassle to try. If not, maybe consider a single sized HB bridge pickup

if possible, try to find someone you know with an HSS strat to try, or try one in a store to see if you like that setup - I know there are quite a few guitars now with that configuration stock

      I have an affinity strat
I play rock and grungy kinda stuff and I upraged my single coil bridge to the hot rails! (humbucker in single coil size) I would highly recommend it for your type of music!
