  • passive bass soapbars

I'm getting an Ibanez BTB400 (beautiful, and a joy to play.)
Well, it has passive pickups, but an 18V active EQ.

My first question is, are there any passive seymour duncan soapbars (I really want the 1/4 pounders, but i've only found them in jazz and p)

and second question is, how well do you think they'll work with the active electronics on the guitar? I'm guessing it shouldn't be a problem, but you never know..

they should work fine with the preamp.

On the preamp/EQ/Buffer issue, it will work just fine. As bass preamps are made to be very transparent,so as to preserve your pups tone to begin with and as such won't colour your sound unintentionally one way or the other. You will get better tone though when driving longer cables with the preamp than without it. So you kinda have a win-win situation.
