I prefer the sound of the Demon to a 59bridge I had in my Gibby LP. The Demon to me sound a little brighter than a 59, but also (imo) has more mids. It's quite a bright sounding pickup, but I wouldn't by any means say it's 'icepick' bright. I think the Mahogany body of your GSG would tame the brightness of the Demon somewhat anyway
