Hi, I Have an Ibanez RG370, and im looking to replace my standard humbuckers. I’m want a real smooth chunky sound that will serve me justice in low tunings i.e. (CGCFAD) or even down to drop B with out being muddy. I have only heard good things about EMG 81’s and bad things about the Dimbuckers. Can I please get some advice on what to get? Also I have heard nothing about the Live Wire Metal humbuckers, can someone tell me about their experiences with them as well?

Re: Whats the best humbuckers for low tunning?
if you dont need high output, try a jazz set. seriously!!
they have great string definiton and a warm sound with a clear top end.
for high output id say a custom is a good choice, stays nice and tight even under lots of gain

The Dime is also very nice drop tuned. I've been as low a C with excellent clarity.www.soundclick.com/failedgrace

I was thinking that a Hybrid pickup consisting of 1 coil from a Jazz, and 1 coil from the Custom might do the trick, along with either a Ceramic or Alnico 5 magnet.
Should be somewhere around 12k or so, and be sensitive, clear, and tight.
At least, that's my guess.....
