  • Metallica sound from an SG

    Im looking to get a metallica sound from my epiphone sg-special with 2 pickups, namely the distortion tone in "fade to black" and "no leaf clover", and the clean tone of "nothing else matters" or "no leaf clover". obviously ill be using sd's. any advice?

    no question Jazz in the neck...then maybe a Custom 5 in the bridge...maybe a JB...or maybe even a Custom or a Distortion...I woiuld go with the Custom 5/Jazz combo...the neck would be very smooth, clean and pretty...the bridge would be fat and dirty...but still able to be clean if you need it to...don't forget the JC-120 heads, and the racks of Mesa and Marshall gear!
    If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. With that in mind, today I may or may not agree with the post you just read!
