  • Thinking about a pup change for cosmetic reasons.

I hope this doesn't sound too silly. My 59 and C5 go together like bread and butter. And my JB seems to play nice with the Qp's. The problem is, the 59 and the JB are zebra's.

Would it be silly to match the 59n with the JB bridge - and the C5b with the Qp's - just for looks? Would these two combo's sound good together?

    Thanks again all.

They should sound good together, let your ears be the judge. I for one am not too concerned with aesthetics. My 'Paul sports a Pearly Gates set where the neck is zebra and the bridge is black.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.

Hamer does that with many of their models, and the look has really grown on me. I don't think it's silly, I waited on a special order '59 bridge in reverse zebra so that I could keep a stock look with my Wolfgang.

I know a lot of folks who love the 59/JB combination.

Cool. Then I'm gonna give it a shot.

Maybe, subconsciously, this was all a thinly veiled excuse to switch pups around - one 'mo time.

I use these on "quite a few" p/ups with good results.
My Cream LPCustom had a 2xblk Jazzn & a Rev Zebra Customb.
Now I've got double Rev Zebras, without the wait,or paying retail for a Spec Order.
            & I've got a "2x Cream" '59n in my Dean '79 Z!!!

Super cool guy, too,he went to HS w/ my gf(in Jax).
            Hell,you may even know him!!!

Rand; That was a great website! All kinds of cool stuff at good prices.

I'm going to add that to my website.

              (btw - I don't know him.)

              Thanks for the link.

I've bought a couple of things from that site...good prices, good stuff, and good advice when I emailed the guy who runs it with some questions.

                  Kewl!
Glad to help, just make sure you order a few more than you need.
The nk pos inner coils are where I use them on 2 guitars.I just changed the first one I put on my Dean Z,as it was starting to lift a little bit where my picking hand contacts it.It had been on for over a year, tho,& the guitar gets played "a lot"(outdoor gigs, too)!!!
I seldom play my LP out,the first one I put on there's fine, but it's in a little different picking line-of-fire.I usually play this one @ the "good"(?) gigs,or at least try to get it out of the house every 6 wks or so,just so it doesn't get pissed at me!!!
                  I'd recommend them,tho,you can probably get a lifetime's worth for < the price of a p/up!!!
