Hello everyone.
I am looking to buy the PRS Mikael Akerfeldt model and am planning on replacing the pickups in it.

I have know idea what pickups to go with because I have been reading that the different types of wood that the body, neck and fretboard are made up of effect how the pickup will end up sounding.

I know that there are other things that effect sound also but in terms of sound,
Dio, ozzy, metallica, pantera.
Anywhere along those lines.

why are you considering changing the pickups on a guitar you haven't bought yet?

To be fair the stock pickups on this guitar are pretty good. I liked them.
