... who do owners think? What would this pickup sound like attached to an alder Strat with a dive-only Floyd on a very clean amp setting? Most of the clips I find are dudes playing =VH= stuff at higher gain settings.

Ace has it right. It's pretty much a particularly punch PAF. You might need a touch more compression for cleans than on some other pickups but other than that it sounds nice. FWIW, the neck version is the best sounding neck pickup I've found for a 24 fret guitar.

If you block a Floyd for dive only and set it up to apply a little extra pressure towards the block you'll get back a lot of the bass that would otherwise be lost.

FWIW, my Gotoh Floyd actually improved the tone of my guitar, over the 6-hole Wilkinson.
