north coil, south coil?

  • north coil, south coil?

    so, with pickups like the jb and custom, the northern coil is the one with the studs and the southern is the coil with the screws?

    I'm not sure, but I'm kind of interested as to why you would ask. I never even thought about it, myself.

    As long as the Seymour Duncan logo is right-side-up, you're doing OK.

      StewMac Pickup Chart is really useful. Warning about Tele pups though - nothing seems to be consistent there, including Seymour Duncan's.

        its for wiring purposes, lots of schematics refer to the coils in these terms
