Installing pups for first time

Sometime soon, i'll be dropping, possibly, a 59 and JB into my Ibanez Arcore.
Since i'm just doing a straight-up replacement of the stock pickups, shouldn't it be as simple as matching the wires up and mounting it properly? Or is there more involved in it than that?
Any special tools besided the obvious like screwdrivers, etc. ? I've seen people on here discussing soldering kits.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers :beerchug:

Re: Installing pups for first time

It will take soldering, as you'll either be soldering wires to the back of the pots or soldering wires together. Also, since Artcores don't have a cavity cover on the back it will take some tricky manuvers (fishing line anyone?) to route the wires to the control pots. If it's your first time installing pickups, I'd recommend you go ahead and take it to a tech.

it's really not hard to do that if you know just a little bit of wiring. All the seymours come with wiring diagrams so that will tell you everything! you will need a low watt soldering iron and of course: solder. but that is not expensive. there are more tools you would appreciate when doing the job but they are not really necessary. you will find out when doing the job.

one more thing: get yourself seymours soon!! you will like them!
