  • My first post.....

    Hi everybody!
Iīm wondering what pick-up would be a good choice for me, considering I tune down to B. Musicwise itīs a bit like Crowbar mixed with Skinlab, Tool and Machine Head

My guitar is a Jackson KVX10 (alder body, two humbuckers, string-thru)
I play with lots of distortion and basically only rhytm, no leads to talk about...

I was considering the Dimebucker, but Iīd like some more suggestions!

    C-ya!

Hi and welcome to the forum!
A dimebucker would be nice, also would a JB since you're tuned in B... A custom is also a winner in a lot of situations...The custom would have a tighter low-end while the JB would have plenty of harmonics... Both great choices...Robert, one of the administrators, has a JB in an Ibanez in dropped C tuning, it's supposed to sound just great! I would probably go for the JB myself... good luck!

welcome to the boards! your gonna love it here...

anyway, i would suggest a customcustom. its got great bite and low end, and i think would sound great tuned to b. the jb would also work great as well.

I have a Jackson KVX10 & have a SH-5 Custom in the bridge which I REALLY like. It's thick & full & crunchy yet clear & powerful. I tried the Distortion but found it lacked bottom end & was too thin sounding for my likings.

Hmmmmm, wouldnīt the Invader be too "muddy" when tuning low? BUt on the other hand Doyle from Misfits used it (I think) so..... well. I wish I could try out all the different suggestions IRL!

That's what I would've thought.. a little muddy... same for the CC in my opinion, not enough highs for dropped tuning, altho I might be wrong...

Well, Iīve seen that Seymour Duncan make Invaders for sevenstrings...... It should work with a low B then, wonīt it?
