Re: pup choices... again...
Neck pickups are generally not used for high gain palm muted playing. Palm muting tends to kill string excursion (vibration) and that reduces your top end. Neck positions are dark to begin with.
The Jazz(n) is probably your best bet for clarity in the neck position.

pup choices... again...
DAMMIT does this get any more annoying? I need a pup, other than the full shred in the neck that has bass, but also has a good, noticable high end crunch. Palm mutes sound muffled and they dont have any high end tone!! But at the same time I wanna retain the tone I can get only from a neck pup.... any ideas, and is this even possible? AAAARGH HELP!!
oh yes the final details, the pup will go in a Ibanez sz520.... mahogany body w/ quilted maple top, rosewood fingerboard...Last edited by Metalman_666; 04-07-2004, 10:02 AM.Tags: None
