new pickups, help

i just got a lower end epiphone les paul . its actually of great value except the bridge pup. Its extremely muddy when playing powerchords. The distortion is dark and weak. Ive looked at dimarzio's and emg's and i might pass on emg because of them being active. The dimarzio evolution, tone zone and X2N looked good.

Im wandering what seymour duncan has to offer me that doesnt have too much bass. Ive already looked at the sh-6 distortion and and sh-13 dimebucker, but i dont know if they are any good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seymour Duncan JB, not too much bass and will sound awesome in your epiphone, can go great clean or overdriven tones.

+1 for JB. might want to go with a jazz or a 59n in the neck.

The SD distortion is a very good all a round rock & lead pickup.
Don't expect it to clean up well when you roll back on the volume.

Not very bassy. More power than the JB. depending on hard
you want to drive your amp and what sound you are going for.

SD Distortion & the Turbo Rat was popular back in the early 80's.

the SD distorion has great harmonics. a very crunching pickup
with a nice top end. if you want all out balls for rocking go
with the SD Distortion. For versatility go with the JB.

The Dime Bag bucker is a take of the BL XL500 that Dime use
to play . But the Dime Bucker is slightly modded IMO.
mean't for pure crushing metal. it has a very high top end
with lot's of grind and power.
