for standard-tuned metal i prefer the custom or custom 8 depending on the guitar. for de-tuned metal, i prefer a FS8 or ceramic FS depending on the axe.

before coming to these conclusions, tried a distortion, JB, JB8, custom, custom4, custom5, custom8, a FS, a ceramic FS, and a FS8.

i have never tried a D activator.

My response was for Guston7, because he thought the FS was a Custom

(Ceramic) with Allen Poles. And I responded saying the FS is based on the

Custom Series but specs wise is closer to the Custom 5 (A5). It had nothing to

do with how they compare "soundwise" which was what YOU posted directly

after my post.........I think you should ease up before jumping to conclusions.

I appreciate the info from both you (JoeB) and Copper. It sure sounds like it's gotta be in the ballpark of the C5 from the specs given. Plus, your comparison of it vs the DA is very much in line w/the comparison I made. As I admitted, though, I have no experience with the actual Full Shred.
